In the 1990s, Harvey Fasse, then-president of Fasse Paint Company, began to hear a growing frustration among wood product manufacturers about the availability of ready-mix stains in no more than just 10 or 15 colors. Furthermore, the time and effort required to create custom stain formulations made the process unwieldy and expensive.
Says Fasse, “Customers wanted a cost-effective, easy-to-use system.” So he began developing a new system, comparable to what he had been using to mix paints for years, but this time for wood stains. Today, the result is the Triclad Stain Matching System.
